Vintage Bourne Denby King Edward Viii Coronation Stoneware Art Deco Mug 1937:
You are invited to offer on this stoneware mug made to commemorate the planned Coronation of King Edward VIII in 1937.This mug bears no markers marks but I am certain it was made in Derbyshire by Denby pottery. It has been transfer printed in blue colour on cream glaze to the front with a laurel roundel of the King and the occasion 'Coronation King Edward VIII, 12th May 1937'. Around the foot there is also a blue band detail. Underneath is an impressed X and 3 or M mark and it measures approx. 3" tall by 4" wide.This mug is in great clean condition with no damage just a couple of small firing flaws on the back of the handle.A lovely Denby King Edward VIII commemorative mug to add to your collection.Please feel free to ask me any further questions and take a look at my other Denby commemorative ware for sale.
