Vintage Blue Souvenir Plate Of New Orleans - Rowland & Marsellus Company For Sale

This plate is ten inches in diameter. The center, which shows a picture of Canal Street with trolley cars and horse-drawn wagons, is recessed so that the rim of this platge is nearly an inch from the table when it is sitting flat. In gorgeous shades of blue, the rim of the dish is decorated with other scenes from New Orleans. The French Opera House, a Levee Scene, City Hall, the Cabildo, Lee Monument, and St. Louis Cathedral each have their own oval on the rim. This plate was designed and imported by D.H. Holmes Co., Ltd. It was made by The Rowland & Marsellus Company of Staffordshire, England. There are no chips, breaks, cracks, scratches or other defects on this plate. The only thing that is different than the day that it came from the store, is the trace of a price that was written on the back of the plate--perhaps the original price? This plate will take the place of honor on any shelf or in any cabinet.
