Thisexcellentquality mantle clock is in verygood cosmetic condition and perfectworking order. It strikes on the

hour and half hour on two bells. Onebellisslightly smaller and iscleverly containedwithin the larger bell thus

saving space and producing thefamiliar,delicate“ting-tang” sound. Thechime can be turned off by a little switch

on the back.

Itis superblyengineered,with solid brass panels and fittings and4 jewel movement. Thecase is held together by

tiny screws on the back and the eight turnedballs top and bottom. Ithas a platform escapement and so runs very

quietly.

Onthe back, as well as the two spring winders, there is a key foradjusting the hands and an advance/retard switch

for finely adjustingthe time.

Thisis a very good example of excellent German clock engineering by the well respected company, F Mauthe.
