VINTAGE NEW MENS COACH SEA ISLAND COTTON SOCKS - 2 PAIR - RARE
These are two pair of rare premium men's dress socks. They fit sock sizes 10-13 (shoe sizes 7-12). One pair is brown and the other is a teal blue. They date from 1991 and still have all original tags, tissue paper inside, and have never been opened or worn. Made in the USA by COACH, they are made of Sea Island Cotton.
Sea Island cotton (which is named for the Sea Islands found offshore of Georgia and South Carolina) has much longer fiber length and is harder/more expensive to grow than other cotton. The longer fiber length gives it greater softness along with better durability. This is the highest-grade of luxurious cotton you can buy.
These sold for $10/pair 20 years ago. Today, you would have a hard time finding them at all. COACH stopped making them long ago. Comparable socks sell today for $35/pair and up.
How did I get them? My grandfather owned a store in New York City that sold men's hosiery. When he passed away and the store closed, I took several boxes of socks. Most have been sitting in a closet ever since.
I don't know if there is a market for rare luxury socks. But this is a one-of-a-kind item that I hope someone will appreciate.

I'm just a regular guy who sells stuff on in my spare time. Mostly, it's personal stuff I can't use anymore or don't have room for, but occasionally I'll sell something I saw at a garage sale or for a friend. I believe in low starting offers and sales, because my goal is to SELL the things I list, rather than squeeze the last penny out of the marketplace. I only sell quality goods, and represent them as accurately as I can. I buy and sell on and believe in the Golden Rule of sales: I sell unto others as I would have them sell unto me.
