Up for your consideration is for a very unique oil painting by J. Laming It is an oil on canvas painting of European Street scene, measuring about 8” by 10\" It is framed in wood which measures about 12 1/2” by 14 1/2”. The frame itself could use some sprucing up as the corner ends are showing signs of separation.It was purchased in the 1960’s from a store in Brooklyn, New York in the 1930\'s. On the back is the original sticker from that store--Thor Solberg, Jr., Inc., 6740 5th Avenue, Brooklyn, New York..The phone number back then was easy to recognize--SHore Road 8-6320..The owner of this shop was a Norwegian-born aviation pioneer who made the first successful flight from the United States of America to Norway in 1935. He recognized great art and put up J. Laming\'s work for sale. My dad bought it in the late 30\'s for $3.00. Back then, three dollars was quite alot of money.
