For offers today we have a super cool vintage garage sign!
We'd date this sign to the middle of the last century as it is made in heavy (2kg) pressed tin instead of enamel.
The sign reads...
PETROLEUM SPIRIT
HIGHLY INFLAMMABLE
NO SMOKING
SWITCH OFF ENGINE
...which was sound advice we're sure!
It spent its life hanging outside a local garage (with petrol pumps) before it got too crusty and a repaint was attempted but then quickly given up on!
It's a shame as the sign is all but finished with only a few of the embossed letters still in need of a lick of red.
In saying that the half finished look with the grime and wear of age really makes this sign look old and interesting so perhaps the lazy painter did us a favour!? Repaint or shabby vintage...you decide!
At 81.5cm long by 33cm high the sign is a great size for display andof course it comes ready to hang with six screw holes around the edge.
