Vintage Round 10 Pipe Stand, Amber Tobacco Jar, 7 Different Tobacco Pipes For Sale
VINTAGE ROUND 10 PIPE STAND, AMBER TOBACCO JAR & COVER, SEVEN DIFFERENT KINDS OF TOBACCO PIPES: There are no identifiers on this round, 10 pipe display stand. The pipe stand is made out of a hard wood that, I would guess is WALNUT. The pipe stand's bottom is covered with a composition piece of thin gray felt. The tobacco stgand's amber colored glass jar stands 5 1/8 inches high. The jar's top measures 3 7/8 inches in diameter. The jar's base measures 3 5/8 inches in diameter. The bottom of the jar displays the legend: C.W. PRODUCTS CORP. NEW YORK CITY . The centy of the jar's base displays characters that look like "Duraglas"....in script, "4", a diamond over an "O", 2, and 1 . This ribbed amber tobacco jar is in flawlessly perfect condition. Pipe "A" is a THORO-KLEEN Greenwich-House aluminum pipe. This pipe has been used, but it is in very good condition. The corn cob pipe has been used, but it is in excellent condition, too. There is still a round pink and white decal on the bottom of this corn cob pipe's bowl. The decal's colors have probably faded with the passage of time? Though difficult to make out the white lettering on thedecal, it looks like: MISSOURI MEERSCHAUM . In the very center of the decal, is the legend: Original (in script), CORN COB MADE IN U.S.A. . Pipe "C" is a ceramic pipe with an amber colored stem. The pipe's ceramic bowl has a Dutch windmill scene illustration on the front of the bowl. The bottom left side of the bowl, near its fractured and neatly repaired area, displays the legend: HOLLAND . On the opposite side of this pipe, is the legend: BAROMITE. The pipe's brass/gold band displays the legend: GOEDE-WAAGEN MADE IN HOLLAND . Aside from the neatly repaired fractures to this pipe's ceramic bowl, this pipe is in excellent condition! Pipe "D" is stamped twice on the briar bowl's extension: FRENCH BRIAR . This pipe has seen use, but it is in excellent condition. Pipe "E" is marked "SUGAR BARREL" on the left side of the bowl's extension and "IMPORTED BRIAR" on the right side. Note my arrow, indicating the very end edge of this pipe's stem being damaged by a smoker's teeth!!!! The white clay pipe is in new, unused condition. A "T" has been molded into the left side of this pipe's bowl and the letter "D" on the right side of the bowl. "JAPAN" is displayed on the left side of this clay pipe's stem. Pipe "G" is a totally unknown item! There are no identifiers on this old pipe. This pipe has seen a good deal of use. The bowl's base section has been subject to repair with a piece of wire having been wrapped around the bowl's female base opening to keep a crack in the wood from spreading. My arrow on this pipe, indicates a missing mouth piece?? The three pieces making up this pipe are joined together by a friction fit only. The stem on this pipe is 12.5 inches long. The stem looks like a tree branch that has had a hole drilled through its center length area. Both ends of the stem have been carved/shaped to fit into the bowl extension and to accept a mouth piece. The bowl and its base are carved out of a hard wood, but the wood is NOT traditional briar wood that pipe's are usually made out of. I have no idea where or when this pipe may have been made! My five photos of this pipe stand, tobacco jar, and seven pipes, should give you an excellent idea as to the appearance and overall physical condition of these pieces. I have used this ten pipe display stand, with its amber colored tobacco jar, and seven pipes, as a decorative display piece in my studio for years. I think it is time for this vintage piece to have a new home!!! SEMPER FI!!
