This is a neat antique stoneware crock with advertising for "C.P. Burnett & Sons Eldorado, ILL." CP Burnett & Sons was a bank here in Eldorado, they opened in 1921. I think this crock may well be older than that, I am thinking CP Burnett & Sons may have had a store of some sort before they opened the bank. I have been in Southern Illinois and around local stoneware advertising pieces for decades. I have never seen this piece before. May very well be one of a kind. This old crock came out of an Anna Illinois estate and most likely was made by UHL pottery in Evansville Indiana. Slight chance it was made at the foundry in Anna, it does have the Anna Pottery type rings around the top. Condition is fantastic, there is not a chip anywhere on the crock I can find. There is a tight 3" line down at the base coming up the side, looks like it was made this way. Good solid crock, rings like a bell when thumped. 16" tall x 9 1/2" across. There is a non original stoneware lid and a very nice looking wooden lid and dasher included. This crock is HEAVY and shipping will run a good bit as the crock and the dasher will have to be shipped separately.
