VINTAGE Solid Silver LARGE ART DECO MUSTARD POT Hallmarked 1926 Sterling NR
London - Bristol Blue Glass Liner - 4 troy oz. - SUPERB
This is a super VINTAGE solid sterling silver LARGE ART DECO mustard pot pot with a Bristol blue glass liner which was made in London, England in 1926 by the illustrious Victorian silversmiths, Charles Edwards at their Northampton Square workshops. It isin an extended octagonal shape, has aplain thumb piece and a stunning reeded loop handle. It measures2 5/8" high by 2 1/8" wide and is 3 5/8" from handle to lip. It is NOT engraved with a crest or initials. The quality of this potshows in the weight -124.1 grams (without the liner) which isover 4 troy oz.
It is in very good condition with just the usual surface scratching with NO distortion andalmost NO dings and NO dents- SUPERB - but it does need a better clean than I have had time to give it!!! The liner isclearly original with nocracks or repairs or chips. The mustard pot is hallmarked C.E, lion passant (sterling silver assay mark),leopard head,l showing that it was hallmarked in London in 1926. I have shown the hallmarks so that you can make up your own mind. A delightful LARGE ART DECO addition to someone's table or collection afterover 85 years.
