Vintage Willis & Geiger Explorers' Parka In Olive Drab With Blaze Orange Lining:
At a thrift shop down the road I encounter a stooped, white-mustachioed man sorting through their outdoor clothing. “No Villis mit Geiger,” he mutters, “need to probe Nortvest Passage now that ice is out.” He wears a ragged parka, olive drab cotton with a blaze orange lining with the word "RESCUE" stenciled across the back...just in case. (To alert passing aircraft and St. Bernards with kegs of rum...but I digress). It also sports a button-out signature W&G wool plaid lining, and has an attached hood with matching wool lining. Despite his parka's age, he keeps it clutched closely, but I catch a glimpse of the label, Willis and Geiger, outfitters for Teddy Roosevelt, Hemingway, Lindbergh and numberless Arctic and Antarctic expeditions. Looking disappointed, he mutters something under his breath about needing a spare parka...but of course nobody in his right mind would part with such a treasure. I turn away to look at a trench coat in uncertain condition, and when I look back he is gone—on his way, no doubt, to renew acquaintance with his Inuit friends.
We offer the identical parka (ours in as near-pristine condition as a garment of this vintage can possibly be). Willis & Geiger closely woven cotton shell with blaze orange cotton lining and attached hood, button-out wool lining in authentic W&G plaid, and button-out hood liner in matching plaid. Has seen some wear, but not so much as it deserves, and can be worn straight out of the shipping container. Caringly stored all these years in a respectable gentleman's closet, NOT a basement or attic (no funny smells!). Includes authentic W&G expedition summary label, on the orange liner. It's your turn to rescue this fine Willis & Geiger Explorers' Parka...and set forth on adventures of your own!
