HERE IT IS FOR YOU NAVAL AVIATION BUFFS !! WILLIS AND GIEGER US NAVY AMERICAN MADE BOMBER JACKET CERTIFICATION SIZE 38 (MEDIUM) MARKED ON THE JACKET LABEL.Cloth label reads \"JACKETS, WINTER, HEAVY, BuAERO, U. S. NAVY, SPECIFICATION M445, WILLIS & GEIGER, in contract nos. 290A\". Small appended cloth tags read \"38\" and \"M\". THIS JACKET IS THE EARLY MODEL, WITHOUT ADDED PATCHES AT THE ELBOWS. THE SHEEPSKIN LINING AND COLLAR ARE WONDERFULLY SOFT AND WARM. THIS VINTAGE LEATHER JACKET IS IN NEAR MINT, UNUSED CONDITION! Size 38 or medium but please look at dimensions below for perfect fit. Exquisite shearling lining. Two front cargo flapped down pockets, heavy wind flap behind the zipper to minimize heat lost. The sleeves have original 100% wool knit rib cuffs sewn inside to block cold and wind. The sheepskin lining and collar have natural fur color. Made in USA, of course.
The brass TALON zipper has the original leather pull tab, as you can see in the pictures. The brass TALON zipper is slightly discolored with verdigris due to age and will need to be cleaned if you want the zipper to slide faultlessly. . The zipper is 24 inches long and goes from the bottom of the jacket all the way along the underside of the collar. All buttons present and intact. Leather is supple and pliable. The jacket back has leather cinch straps and buckles to tighten the fit. This jacket is all original!
Approximate Outside Dimensions: 16 inches across back shoulder to shoulder by 22 1/2 inches tall from below collar to bottom of jacket by 19.5 inches across chest armpit to armpit by 23 inches long arms from top shoulder seam to bottom of cuff, armpit to base 13 1/2\", COLLAR 4 1/2\" wide.
THIS IS NOT A REPLICA - THIS JACKET BELONGED TO MY FATHER, A WW2 VETERAN. He had it and stored it away all these years. SOME MIGHT WANT THE BROKEN-IN LOOK, BUT COLLECTORS MAY THEIR VINTAGE NAVY LEATHER JACKET TO LOOK LIKE IT DID WHEN NEW - AS THIS ONE DOES!!
