For sale is a first aid kit made by Mine Safety Appliance for the Bell Telephone Company, American Telephone and Telegraph. I was told this item dates back to the World War II period. I was also told these kits were assigned to telephone lineman who were climbing telephone polls and fixing the telephone system for \"Ma-Bell.\" This item is being sold \"AS-IS\" because it is incomplete. The outer heavy metal box shows wear and use and measures approximately 8.5 x 7 x 3.25 inches. There is a latch and carry handle on the box. The upper lid opens to what seems to be a clean workspace and a pocket for \"probably\" a first aid book. The instructions for use of the inner contents is on the underside of the lid. The workspace/book site folds up and the contents of the box is revealed. The design of the items found in the box are on the underside of the workspace. Some items are missing but the one present seem to be intact. However, I did not open all the boxes. The MSA box color and Bell Telephone logo, I was told, places this item back as far as the WWII period. Would make an excellent addition to your collection. Please see photos for condition.
