Early Century Navajo Rug
It has been in my family sincethe 1950s when my father purchased a loghome and this rug was in it.
39.5 by 72 inches.
I have looked at over 1500 navajo rugs and can't find another oneeven similar to this onewith cattle, trees, hillls and the large three central designs. Each steer has its own unique side markings.
It has some wear. There is a small thinned area under one of the cattle (see picture). There is some change in the shading, as two steers at one end are darker than at the other end. One corner tassel is okay but the other three are missing. This rug is 100% original, never cleaned and never repaired. I listed it with lots of pictures so you can judge the condition.
