VINTAGE c1970s WHITEFRIARS STREAKY PURPLE & BLUE GLASS VASE GEOFFREY BAXTER 9788 Description
This vintage circa 1970's Whitefriars retro streaky glass vase designed by Geoffrey Baxter and produced c1971-73, is of ovoid form pattern number 9788 and it is internally decorated with purple and blue swirling streaks and cased in clear crystal glass. This beautiful piece of glass has a finely ground and polished pontil mark to the base.
It is in good condition with no chips, cracks, damage or repair and no glass disease. It does have some small surface scratches and marks with a tiny 1mm bruise, which looks a bit like a blown bubble mark, but it is a bruise, these are almost all on the lower half of the vase. There is also a 4mm long oval bubble on the surface which has popped in the middle, it is about 3cm, up from the base, these are all conducive with its age and use.
Height 16.6cm, 6.17/32", max diameter approx 13.5cm, 5.5/16", unpacked weight 1075 grams.
