Lovely ANTIQUE Art Deco Vintage 12 KARAT GOLD FILLED GF CAMEO BROOCH & PENDANT Hand Carved Shell with Finely Detailed Classical ProfileI\'ve acquired a lovely estate collection of jewelry, and will be listing many new items, so please take a look! This beautiful Cameo Brooch or Pendant is a wonderful quality carved shell cameo, with very fine detail. It features a bust in profile of young woman or Goddess in a typically Classical Pose, with gorgeous, flowing swirls of curled hair and earring. The frame has a bale at the top (marked \"HFB\") which swivels down, so it is hidden when the cameo is worn as a brooch. The frame is an elegant open work design with delicate engraving, and the pin back locks securely. I cannot be sure of the cameo\'s maker or age, but there are various marks inside the frame on the back. As was typical of many cameos, it is marked \"1/20 12K GF\" and under that mark are the letters \"V.S.S.\" which I believe is the maker\'s mark. Also inside the frame are letters which look like Roman Numerals \"X X V I I\" or 28. This may indicate a date. Based on that, the style of the frame and the estate owner\'s information, I would estimate that this cameo was created during the Art Deco Period, and appears to be in its original \'estate as found\' excellent condition. Approximate Dimensions: 1-3/4\" high plus 3/4\" for the bale x 1-3/8\" across x 3/8\" deep; Approximate Weight: 11 grams.
