Spectacular example of one of Mandalian Mfg Co's "Lustro Pearl Finish" bags in a delightful diminutive size! A beautifully embossed frame, in the "cathedral" style suspends a colorfully enameled metal mesh bag that terminates in a lovely double "V" shaped bottom and fine chain fringe, both hallmarks of the quality of the Mandalian bags. Mandalian Mfg Co was started in the early 1920s by Shatiel Mandalia, a Turkish immigrant, and quickly eclipsed Whiting and Davis for style, color and design intricacy. This beautiful bag is certainly no exception! A true prize for the collector of fine antique mesh purses and bags!

Measurements: Bag: 8" from the top of the twist snap closure to the bottom of the center fringe. The mesh measures 6" from the bottom edge of the frame to the top edge of the fringe. The bag is approximately 3 1/2" wide. The "drop" is approximately 5"

Condition: In very, very good antique condition, with the enameling showing only 1-2 fleabites on 1-2 single mesh panels right up snug to the hinge. You have to bring it right up to your nose to see them and look very hard to locate them. None of the mesh pieces is bare at all. Mentioned for accuracy. The only "loss" I can find on the bag is 4 missing chain links from one strand of fringe...can be seen in the photos. The bag is complete, is unlined, as it was originally and is free of stains, odors, rust or verdigris. The chain handle appears original to manufacture. The bag snaps closed smartly and remains closed when clasped. This is truly collector quality!
