VTG 1930s FRENCH CHINOISERIE GILT BRONZE RETICULATED PAGODA LANTERN CHANDELIER:

Beautiful and unique, vintage chandelier. Dating to the 1930s, this gorgeous, HEAVY,fixture features3, very large, reticulated,pagoda shape,lantern arms fixed upon an open, ringed,circular body.Each lantern is lidded with the lids attachedby 2 removable screws.The lanterns have ornately patterned bodies with scrolled patterns or acanthus leaves. The lids have a textured, gilded finish that resembles a hammered finish. There are 3 iron chains that connect the fixture to the very large, ornate ceiling canopy. The canopy is fluted and has a large finial that matches thethose under each lantern. The fixture is not marked but there is an old \"Union Made\" sticker inside the canopy. The chandelier has a gilded finish that is a golden bronze color. It does not take a magnet so the fixture is not iron but isbrass or bronze. The wiring is original and is cloth wrapped and the sockets are ceramic. There are areas on the wiring where the cloth is worn, but the plastic coating to the wiring is still intact and the wires are not exposed. The chandelieroperates with 3, standard size bulbs. At one point, there appears to have been glass inside the lanterns as there are screwsinside the lanterns that would hold glass panels in place. The finish of the chandelier is good with some small areas having a heavy tarnish which gives the fixture a beautifully aged character. The iron chainshave rusted.

The lanterns are 28\" apart and the chandelier has a diameter of approximately 34\". The center ring is 14\" in diameter. Each lantern arm is 20\" tall. The lanterns are7\" wide at the widest sections of the lid. The ceiling canopy is large and measures 8\" in diameter and 4.5\" tall. The chandelierhangs 27\" from the ceiling.
