Here we have unique piece, heavy with military history, an issued Luftwaffe sheepskin coat from the Eastern Front. Artfully made in the 1940s from a sewn pelts of strong and heavy natural cream sheepskin, creating great insulation from the cold. Large wool collar. The garment has a four toggle closure, the rope hoops of which have undergone replacement at some point of history. The top loop is broken, but doesn't effect the coats closure and can be replaced if required.Plain freeform cuffs. Two angled pockets at the hips lined in a strong hessian. This is an issued garment which has seen it's share of the action and is showing signs of wear as a result. Some of the wool has a grubby appearance with the odd thinning section. Many period repairs and patchwork, including one large slash repair at the arm. Some holes are also present with some thinning to small sections of the sheepskin on the back. It still has bags of charm and is still wearable. Perfectly warm for the winter months. A heavy item, hence the postage costs. Please check measurements below carefully.
Underarm to underarm: 22" (ideally fitting a 36-42" chest)
Shoulder to cuff: 26.5"
Nape of neck to hem: 36"
