Vtg 1952 Martin D-18 100% Crack Free Bluegrass Holy Grail, No Reserve For Sale
Holy Grail Guitars is proud to present another fantastic vintage guitar for sale today, starting at just 99 cents! -- definitely not one to miss as it happens to be for one of the absolute best sounding acoustic guitars we've ever had. This 1952 Martin D-18 is everything you want and nothing you don't...it has that classic bluegrass look and patina...honest playwear but still completely original and 100% structurally sound...it is light as a feather, too, and just holding it, you know it's gonna sound amazing. It doesn't disappoint! This was a Nashville guitar and our consignor bought it from Gruhn after testing it against vintage D-18s from every year and price range...money was no object and this just happened to be the winner. Huge, clear, dry woody tones that come through every bit as well when fingerpicking quietly as when you dig into chords. You just can't get a bad sound with this guitar. Even George Gruhn himself even noted on the original receipt/inventory tag -- "Exceptionally fine sound" -- very cool!Martins like this don't come around too often. There are no cracks of any kind anywhere on this guitar. No breaks, no repairs, not even an installed neck strap button! Gruhn Guitars recently completely an expert neck reset and refret so it plays like a dream...perfect intonation and playability everywhere on the fretboard. Action is very low and remaining saddle height is very high, just how you would want it. See photos. Gruhn installed a preventative, tiny crescent shim under the pickguard at the soundhole to deter the often-seen pickguard crack these models tend to get. A real no excuses guitar and all the work is done for you! This is as exciting as a vintage Martin as you will see...won't find a better sounding example and it is a bonified playable investment, too -- Martin guitars are really the only recession-proof brand...as you may or may not know, other vintage guitar brand values were significantly affected by the recession while vintage Martin values continued to grow. It includes the original Gruhn receipt and an era-appropriate case (possibly the original, handle looks to be replaced). Very straightforward vintage Martin here...enjoy the video demo and photos below and let us know if you have any
