Vaillancourt Folk Art is best known for their hand-painted collectible chalkware figures, which are molded from antique chocolate moulds, and their hand blown glass ornaments-which are interpretations of the chalkware figures. Judi Vaillancourt's collection of vintage chocolate moulds is of the largest collections in the world. The moulds date back to the 19th century when a gift of chocolate was a special treasure and every small European village had a chocolate shop. Today, these moulds are used to create the Vaillancourt chalkware figures that have been hand-painted in Massachusetts since 1984.
The Moulds: TheVaillancourt collection of 19th and early 20th century chocolate, ice cream, and candy moulds has pieces from the world's most renowned makers including: LeTang, Reiche, Jaburg and others. The craftsmanship of these moulds are Judi's detailed painting designs give Vaillancourt Chalkware a uniqueness that has made them an American Classic.
The Process: This Vaillancourt originalare created in Judi's studioin historic Massachusetts. Designed by Judi Vaillancourt, each one is hand cast in a confectionery mould, air dried, painted in oil paints, then given several finish coats including antiquing for an aged patina.

Pick Ups: We do welcome pick ups at our store after the item has been purchased thru . Please call or email to confirm the item is ready. In many cases, we do list items for sale from our Lombard store, FairyTales, Inc. 28 W. St. Charles Lombard IL 60148.
Returns: If you wish to return an item you purchased from FairyTales-Inc, you must notify us within 3 days of receiving the item. Shipping fees will not be refunded. Buyer is responsible for fees incurred to return items to FairyTales-Inc. Credit for the item will not be issued until FairyTales-Inc receives the item in its original condition it was received. We will not accept items that are returned with out notice. All returns must have a FairyTales-Inc return Authorization number on the box. Damages caused in shipping must be report to FairyTales-inc with in 3 days after the item is received. FairyTales-Inc will issue a full refund or replace the item after the shipping claim has been issued.
Damages: If you receive a damaged item, please contact us with in 3 days after the item is received. We will replace the item immediately if in stock along with placing a claim with the shipping carrier or the manufacturer of the item. DO NOT ship this item back to us. We will issue a shipping call tag for the item to be picked up or destroyed. We will not accept items returned without notice. If we do not have the item, buyer is welcome to exchange the item for another of equal value. Or we will issue a full refund on the damaged item.
2009 Holiday Shipping: For the 2009 Christmas Holiday, Orders must be placed and paid for by 2:00 PM on Monday, December 14, 2009, to be received by Thursday, December 24, 2009 in the Continental United States. Orders will be shipped via UPS unless requested otherwise. Shipping is NOT guaranteed due to unforeseen weather conditions and shipping carriers requirements. Orders shipping International via the USPS for the 2009 Christmas Holiday must be placed and paid for by 2:00 PM on Monday, November 31, 2009 to be received Thursday, December 24, 2009. Again, shipping is NOT guaranteed due to unforeseen weather conditions and shipping carriers requirements. We will happily expedite shipping (next day, second day or three day select) with an additional charge to the buyer.
