For saleis a Staffordshire Figural vase with an estimated date of manufacture of around 1840.
The figure shows a cherub or putti holding a cornucopia shell which acts as a spill vase. It is pearl ware glazed and is decorated with typical colourway of green, blue, red and yellow. The figure sits on a grassy mound with a typical early square type base.
The figure is in reasonable display condition for it's vintage but there are several areas for consideration as shown in the close up photos and as now described. The shell itself I believe has had some repainting and as such is assumed to have had some restoration. However these earlier figures were often quite crudely made so it could be how it was originally manufactured. In addition the thumb of the figure has also been reglued and there is an old chip to the underside of the base. Despite these factors the figure still shows nicely and is considered to be an unusual model.
Please see photos for confirmation of condition.
Any bright white marks to the figure in the photos are due to light reflection.
