Very Fine 18th-19th C. Scottish English Silver Mounted Dirk Dagger (sword):
Fine quality example, definitely belonged to someone of status and wealth, having a large sturdy blade of traditional style with finely serrated back edge turning in to a oversized double edged tip. Blade is in excellent shape with lovely gray patina throughout. Beautifully carved wooden grip adorned with many silver nails and with finely engraved silver mounts, topped by a lovely undamaged crystal or white topaz pommel, the mounts are unmarked for this piece most likely being a private and individual order weapon. Solid overall and with its original silver mounted fabric over wood scabbard, velvety brown fabric showing wear but fully intact, lower mount having slight deformation at the end.
