A Very Fine PAIR of Mason's Ironstone Polychrome Transferware 8" Plates circa 1813-1820

~ MOGUL Pattern ~ Superb Condition and Color! ~

Each 8" in diameter

A beautiful pair of small plates with indented borders printed and thickly polychrome enameled with Mason's Mogul pattern. Both have the early impressed one line 'MASONS PATENT IRONSTONE CHINA' as well as blue transfer MASON'S mark with crown and banner. These have the heavy feel and look of the Chinese export china they were meant to imitate; at only 8" each they each weigh almost 12 ounces.

Both in superb condition with vivid enamels and hardly any wear. The one on right (above) shows a small white spot in the green tree at right which was a manufacturing error and not damage, these are both very fine early examples.

Both have traces of orange lustre to the edges
