Very Large 1940 60"x44" Metal Coke Sign with medallions
I don't know how long the sign was outside, but it has been stored inside for the last 40 years. This sign appears to be designed to hang over a door, across a sidewalk. The sign is 60" Wide x 44" Tall. There is a date stamp of 1940 along the edge. There is also a trade mark on both sides in the white part of the swoosh under the Coke part of the text. The main sign is stamped from heavy steel, and two sided. There are two medallions on the bottom of the sign (one on each side), both are heavy steel, with enamel. The medallions on the bottom are also stamped from heavy steel, and bolted to the bottom of both sides the sign. The bolts are very secure. I can't tell if the bolts are original, or not, but they are old. The sign is very heavy, it is made from heavy gauge steel about 1/16 inch thick. It has 5 mounting holes along the top edge.The sign has very vibrant colors. I have done nothing to this sign, other than use Windex and a cotton cloth to clean the dust, and dirt from the surfaces. There are thick layers of enamel that make up the colors on all parts. The sign does have some rust, but most of sign is in great shape (see pictures). I am listing this item as Local Pickup, simply because it is huge, and heavy. The sign alone weighs 46 lbs, and is 60" wide x 44" tall x 6" thick across the thick part of the medallions. Before sending me questions about shipping anywhere, I have checked USPS, UPS, and FedEx, the size of the sign alone with no packing, is bigger than they will accept at standard rates. To ship this sign would require building a padded wood create that can be put on a pallet for a forklift, and it would have to go as freight. Before asking I will not break up the sign into parts, I also will not accept deals outside of to "save me fees".
