We are pleased toinclude this remake of a very nice regulator clock in this week's sales.
The case was recently constructed out of Cherry hardwood. Over the last 20 or so years, I have merged my two hobbies into one... Clock Collecting/Restoration and Fine Woodworking. My house is just not big enough for my collection so I am offering several clocks that are basically copies of the original clock, many offered with antique or original movements and dials. This particular clock is a fairly close copy of a ($3500) Seth Thomas #18 Regulator. I did not have the original clock to go by so I used pictures and dimensions readily available on the internet. It features a reproduction, #18 movement that was purchased from Time Savers several years ago. The pendulum bob is a high quality reproduction of the original Seth Thomas #18 bob. The 14" painted dial is old, but it is not an original Seth Thomas dial. After a few months of research and planning, I decided to make this one-of-a kind wall clock. I have only enjoyed this clock for a few months now, but my wife says it needs a new home. At last count, we had 18 clocks standing next to or hanging on our walls. The case is very well made, but there are a few small flaws that you can see upon very close inspection. The most noticeable is a nick on the inside edge of the case, behind the front door. I dropped the weight and it nicked the case. Fortunately the weight is fine and the flaw in the wood can't be seen once the door is closed. The clock was stained with a light cherry stain and finished with semi-gloss lacquer. The upper door is secured with a brass latch that is very similar to the one used in my original ST #2 regulator. The lower door is secured with s ST #2 door latch. It stands about 54" tall, 20" wide and 6" deep at the widest and deepest parts of the clock.
Thanks for your interest! Here are a few pics of the clocks that will be listing later this month........
