Very Nice 17th C. Dutch, Swedish Or German Cavalry Trooper's Broad Sword :

Very nice early battle sword possibly Swedish or Dutch and dating from around early to mid 1600s, with a sturdy broad double edged blade of diamond cross section, exhibiting nice rich patina and fine pitting throughout. Mounted with a large steel hilt having a massive guard ring with a pierced steel clam shell plate and a distinctive fish tail pommel, all engraved throughout, extra protection to the hand and a thumb ring on the other side. With dark patina overall, guard slightly loose, however the wire wrapped grip is intact and solid on the tang.overall 38" blade 32 1/4".
