This rare figurine is No. 3505 by Theodor Madsen for Royal Copenhagen. He generally only made animals. Based on the book by Robert J. Heritage titled, \"Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Animals and Figurines,\" (2004) he states, \"As far as is known there was only one figurine made by Madsen for Royal Copenhagen but it sheds a little more light on his wider capabilities.\" However, the piece referenced in the book is called Rosebud (No. 3009) and is a figure of a little girl wrapped in a bathing towel. The piece for sale could be a previously unknown piece which was made later and could be the \"sibling\" to the known piece referenced by Heritage. This piece is an art noveau figurine of a nude boy wrapped in a curtain. Well, mostly wrapped. His bum is hanging out. We could find no flaws whatsoever with this piece. It is a factory first according to the markings. The bottom is well marked and the initials TM can be found on the side near the bottom. The boy stands about 9\" tall.
