Very Rare Antique Austrian/bohemian Ws&s Egyptian Revival Vase:
Up for your consideration is this Very Rare Antique Austrian/Bohemian WS&S Egyptian Revival Vase, by Wilhelm Schiller & sons. Made in Bodenbach Bohemia Austria which is now Podmolky Czech Republic. It dates from the 19th century. It is in overall good condition with a single chip to the base and some loss of color.
It is marked with the impressed ws&s logo and the mold number 608 or 809 depending on which way you read it. WS&S were prolific makers of majolica wares and other ceramics. The production stopped with the outbreak of world war one. The vase stands 11 1/4 inches high at its widest point 7 inches from handle to handle, the diameter of the base is 4 1/4 inches.I love the Pharos mask and the serpents heads handles. The body of the vase also has hyroglyphics and symetrical decoration. A really rare & great piece of egyptian revival pottery.
