This is a very rare chance to own a \'European\' version of the 2nd to top of this line Sansui 771 receiver. This version has black accents and was much more common in the European market, although it was available to US retailers as well. As you can see in the photos, this unit was connected and tested as the photos were taken and the tested functions work well.
I collect vintage KLH speakers and Sansui electronics, and this unit comes from my personal collection. I listened to it on at least a weekly basis for years before a job change forced me to downsize my residence and therefore my collection. I already own an 881 (\'American\' version of the top of this line) and an 890 (Black faced version of the 8080) so i felt i could let this one go without leaving a hole in my collection. When i received it, it was cleaned, tested and brought up to factory specs according to the service manual. I installed new lights and made sure it was in great working condition before putting it into use. As a 40-year old piece of electronics it could be brought to like new condition with the replacement of electrolytic capacitors, which do not have an indefinite life. This, and possibly realigning the tuners would bring this unit to a state in which it would sound as good as or maybe even better than the day it left the factory. These units rarely come up for sale, so don\'t miss your chance to add a rare and great-sounding Sansui receiver to your collection. I\'ll miss it, but i\'m sure you\'ll enjoy it every bit as much as i did!
