Very Rare Vintage 1978 Faith Wick Male Gnome Elf 17\" Porcelain Doll
Doll\'s face and hands are hand painted porcelain, with a soft body over wire armature for posing. His facial features, deep coloring and bright blue eyes are delightful! He wears a rust brown color pair of faux suede overalls with wood buttons at the ankles. He has a full sleeve muslin cream color shirt under the overalls and a plush Gnome hat to match the overalls. His boots are made of real fur (probably rabbit).
Marked on the back of his neck: \"F Wick 5/100 MK Topper 7 8\" (For the year he was made 1978)
Faith Wick porcelain dolls are very hard to find. This one is number 5 of only 100 pieces made. My mother bought this one from Faith Wick herself at a harvest festival in 1978 (the year marked on his neck).
This doll is in excellent condition and has been in my mother\'s collection for 38 years. It is a non smoking house and I smell no offensive odors. He has a slight age smell (as all old dollys do) and a bit of shelf dust.

Her forte is creating characters from nursery rhymes, folk and fairy tales, Christmas and circus. She began a cottage industry to produce her work in porcelain and called her company Wicket Originals, Inc., Effanbee Doll Company asked her to design dolls for their new division, called Craftsman\'s Corner, in 1979. This began a career designing dolls and giftware for Enesco, Silvestri, R. Dakin, Dollspart and others.
