Up for sale:
this French or German made dagger that has been manufactured during the 1850`s - 1860`s period.
The hilt is made out of animal horn (non endangered species) which has been nicely carved.
There is a nickel-silverferrule between the handle and the guard, the fittings of the sheath are also nickel-silver.
Statistics: the overall length is 198 mm (7.9 Inches) - the length of the blade is 112 mm (4.4 Inches).
The sheath is complete and needs some new stitches, leather has scuff marks and needs some wax.
Condition: the horn hilt- or handle is in very good condition und completely UNDAMAGED.
There is no "play" between any of the parts, this dagger is very solid.
The blade has one minor nick and 1 mm part of the point of the blade is missing.
The surface of the blade is clean and smooth.
This is a nice classic dagger with a stunning handle complete with a sheath with nickel-silver fittings.
