Very Rare French Rumpf L'incomparable Sewing Machine A Coudre Naehmaschine 1889 For Sale
Hard to find French Sewing Machine "L'Incomparable" by Martin Henri Rumpf, Paris, 1889. . This is a quite unique machine. It is driven neither by a handwheel nor by a pedal mechanism. It works with a cord. You pull the cord, loose it, pull it again, loose it and so on. I have posted a short movie on youtube to show how the machine works. To see the movie go to youtube.com and search for: incomparable sewing machineThe inventor of this machine was Wilhelm von Pitteler from Leipzig, Germany. Wilhelm sold the patent he got 1887 for this machine to Henri Martin Rumpf at Paris, France. Martin got the machine produced 1889 and sold it under his name. . The machine is all original, no cracks, no chips, no repairs, no repainting. I have only cleaned and oiled the machine and given it a new cord. When you pull the cord, the mechanism works, all parts are moving. Painting and decals are in very good condition. There are only some tiny spots where painting / decor have gone and some tiny spots of rust. There is no clamp, no pantograph, which was a special attachment of this machine. Bobbin is missing. It comes with 6 needles. Needles are the same as you use with Singer 1. It measures about
8 1/2" height x 4 1/4" depth x 10 1/2" width ( 21.5 x 11 x 27 cm
). It weights 10.5 lb ( 44770 g) . I have another extremely rare sewing machine, a British Jackson, in another sale on , ending March 17. . I have a 100 % positive response, so please offer with confidence. If you have any questions please email me befor you offer. Thanks and good luck! Burghard Schack, Cologne, Germany. . I have added a closed up photo of the face plate for which I was asked for. The Face plate is bright and clear almost like a mirror. In the middle of the face plate is a round brass plate of Rumpf, Paris . The drawing with the lady shows how to run the machine with a cord and by foot. antique antigua maquina de coser antica macchina cucire alte uralte antike
