Thank you for your interest in this very rare HUGE pair of antique gingerbread springerle cookie molds. This pair of molds are the largest I have seen and I cannot find any comparable molds. One board is approximately 41\" tall x 11\" wide, the other is 40\" tall x 11.5\" wide. Both boards are approximately 1.25\" thick. I am not an expert on wood but when I bought these I was told that they were very old and were made from pear wood boards. They are probably Dutch or German. The boards themselves are very primitively carved depicting a pair of jester-like figures. The wood has plenty of usage wear and has knots and splits that only serve to enhance the patina of these wonderful molds. Each baord has an iron hanging ring on the top edge.They look great in a rustic setting but, conversely, they look equally great in a modern Environment where they add warmth and a folk-art point of interest. They were originally mounted on the exposed brick wall of my Boston loft where they looked fantastic.Thanks for looking!
