Gorgeous Seiko Kinetic 5M42 OC20 [A4}, this has a brand NEW (this month) Lithium-Ion upgraded capacitor just fitted, this is one of the very rare FULL SIZE Kinetics, this means not only does it benefit from the very clever Seiko \'Kinetic\' technology, ( never needs a battery, recharges just from the movement of your wrist), in addition to that this example also has the larger size case, this adds another very clever feature it makes this example immensely strong and robust, when worn normally this watch just runs and runs non-stop, constantly charged from the natural movement (Kinetic), however, if you were not to wear the watch for a period of time normally the watch would run out of power, however this example benefits from a brand NEW Seiko \'Lithium-Ion\' upgraded capacitor, (All gaskets changed, properly re-greased etc), this enormously extends the capacitor reserve (Months of power rather than a few weeks) that the watch has when not worn regularly. Very, very clever and great to watch !!!
Simply superb example, very,very rare and collectable in this condition. In my opinion this really is a fabulous example, it appears to me to be completely original and NOT a re-finished polished or buffed example. The factory finish is in superb condition throughout, very,very few signs of wear (if any) and these only add to the patina of age that vintage items naturally acquire. All functions are working flawlessly, it keeps superb accurate time, all features work correctly (including the \'instant\' return to the \'correct\' position of all hands after \'testing\' the power reserve). The date functions all operate smoothly and correctly, setting properly and working crisply.
This particular example with an exceptionally nice shimmering textured satin white dial, it glints anywhere from simple shiny satin through to a very nice \'checker-ed\' texture depending on how the light catches it, it really does look glorious!. It also has the high contrast \'baton\' type number indicators on the dial , these all have full \'lume\' (still really bright) it really does look absolutely stunning in the flesh. This is nicely complemented by the combination of a highly polished gold trimmed areas and satin (brushed/sandblast) case finish, it really does look and feel solid,heavy and impressive when worn.

The watch does NOT come supplied with the Seiko display stand which you see in the pictures, (it\'s just to make the pictures easier to take) it DOES come with an \'aftermarket\' jewellers type box which is perfect for storage, transport or display of high quality watches.
This is a genuine very early original example (I think it is at least based on the serial number, please check for yourself just to be certain, the serial number is -5D6373- which according to the serial number dating website confirms the early date). It is a fully genuine original Kinetic watch , this one in my opinion is one of the most classically simple and elegant that they do, it looks sensational in my opinion. Having said that I do think that hopefully most peoples opinion this combination of colours and case style/finish is one of the very best. I would think that this is an extremely desirable and collectable vintage watch.
This watch came from a large collection from a private collector who started collecting in 1979, some of the collection was purchased new and kept as a one-owner example rarely worn (if ever). I do NOT think that this is a \'never worn\' example, it is in exceptional condition for a vintage watch but does not look like it\'s lived in a safe it\'s whole life. It was part of a much loved collection which took over 35 years to amass, this watch has never been offered for sale anywhere previously.
