Thecondition is used and Excellent for its age.
The silver set has No large Dents and No Holes, the glass bottle has No Chips and No Cracks, the set has No Repairs thatI can find, all of the pieces are straight, the definition and decoration is very crisp, the chalice or goblet and bottle hold liquid without leaking, the gilding is a good colour with only minimal wear, the silver hallmarks are partially rubbed or worn in places but still mostly legible, the travel case hinges and sprung catch are working perfectly although as this communion set is a used antique the bottle is an earlier replacement, its lid is dented and it has a split that runs around the silver joint seem on its lid, the goblet and tray also have the odd tiny shallow dent and the set has some extremely minor surface marks and wear fromuse, it has the patina of age that is to be expected and as the set is in the totally original condition that it was found there is a dried residue within the glass bottle so a good clean would enhance it greatly. Personally I think that this antique ecclesiastical holycommunion set can still be used today and that it would make asuperb addition to any collection, I also thinkthat it looks fantastic considering that this set is over 110 yearsold.
