Victorian Civil War Paisley Print Challis Hoop Skirt Morning Wrapper Day Dress

This antique Victorian Civil War era paisley print challis hoop skirt morning wrapper day dress dates from the 1860s. It is made of a woven wool challis fabric, with a colorful brown, orange striped paisley pattern print design. There are dark brown silk velvet trim buttons, pockets, collar & cuffs. This magnificent morning wrapper day dress has a small fold over collar, long full sleeves with rolled cuffs, a long floor length full hoop skirt (hoop not included underneath) with a slight pleated back train drape, button closures all the way down the front and a brown polished cotton, calico brown, red, blue floral print lining inside. The dress measures 55 inches long in the front, 65 inches long in the back, with a 38 inch waist, 36 inch bust, 14 inch back and 20 inch long sleeves. It is in good condition, with only a few missing buttons and a small fray on the front (see close-up). This is truly a rare and wonderful piece of antique Victoriana textile art!
