Victorian Gutta Percha Floral Bracelet In High Relief For Sale
Up for sale is a fine Victorian gutta percha expansion style bracelet with a high relief design of flowers and leaves on top. This is gorgeous and in greatVictorian condition! This dates back to the 1850's-1870's. Gutta Percha is made from the sap of the Malayan tree and was introduced in England in 1841. This material was used a lot for mourning jewelry. The top floral repousse design isattached to the bracelet with 2 little old time screws (photo #7). This bracelet would fit a small to medium wrist best. It's inner diameter is 2 1/4" horizontally by 1 3/4" vertically. The back of the bracelet opens up (expands)to put the bracelet on and take it off. The width of this bracelet is 1 1/4" at the center and it tapers gradually around to the back. There are no cuts or breaks on this bracelet. It is in excellent Victorian condition.
