This is a stunning old marble keystone from a Victorian Marble fireplace. This was the center or focal point of that fireplace. Circa 1869-1899. This piece is solid marble. It is white marble with gorgeous natural striations, black peppering and veins of gray. It has elaborate scrollwork, a beveled diamond and shell bottom all carved into the marble. It is rich with Victorian design.

Today these architectural artifacts are enjoyed all over the home: displayed in collections on a wall; as an architectural element or bookend on a shelf, mantle or bookcase; displayed alone or with a shelf atop; and incorporated into backsplashes in kitchens and bathrooms. Hangers are easily drilled into the back or even glued on with epoxy.

Condition is Excellent. No cracks. No noteworthy chips or chunks. It has the kind of insignificant nicks and scuffs that only add to its character. Original glaze is in excellent condition giving it a smooth finish and beautiful light reflection.

This keystone measures 10\" tall. It is 7 1/8\" wide at the widest point. It is 4\" deep at its high point.
