Victorian Ruched Bustle Dress w Train / Matching Hat SmThis beautiful victorian bustle dress is made from an olive green silk taffeta and is trimmed with silk satin. The skirt is lined in brown cotton, the front is gathered and ruched, draped to the side. It's trimmed with fringe and ribbons in a lighter green. The back will bustle and it has a short train. The bodice is not boned, lined in cotton trimmed with satin, lace around the neck and bows. There's quite a lot of splitting on the fabric both bodice and skirt, some light spots scattered, underarm stains on the bodice and wear on the buttons. It has some fading, but is even, when you look at the fabric that's hidden you can see the orginal shade. It measures36 inches around the bust, waist is 28 inches (waist seam let out) and it's 23 inches long in front and a little longer in back. The skirt is 27 3/4 inches around the waistband, hips are full and it's 40 1/2 inches long. The little hat is ruched across the front and has ivory velvet fruit in front and long streamers in back from the same ribbons and fabric as the dress. The hat has minor wear, but is in pretty good condition. It's about 11 inches front to back with the peak on top, Dress as is, but a lovely display piece. De-accessioned from a museum.
