I sell a great deal of silverplate items on and can honestly say this is one of the brightest finish pieces I have offered for quite sometime. I do not sell any silverplate that has wear or will not polish. This tilting pitcher was used for water or coffee. The cradle and handle are adorned with fancy castings. I repeat the finish is very bright and it may have been replated years ago. This would be a plus for the collectorat Probably had a burner underneath at one time.
