This antique Victorian era style Ruth Stockley society silk embroidery floral peach bonnet hat has a 1900 inspired design. The hat is hand made by the late milliner Ruth Stockley in the 1980s, she was the foremost authority on the design and construction of 20th century millinery. It is made of a pastel peach color cotton fabric base with a vintage society silk floss embroidery linen fabric doily overlay covering the top which has a finely hand embroidered pastel Art Nouveau style floral leaf pattern design. There is cream lace trim ruffle edging the brim, a peach ribbon hatband bow and pastel silk flower, bow trim on the back. This beautiful belle epoque bonnet style hat has an upturned wide brim with ruched pleated gathered peach fabric underneath, a tall round crown which is fully lined and would have sat atop a large full Gibson Girl style updo hairdo secured with long hat pins. There is a \"Specially Hand Made by Ruth\" label sewn inside. It has been beautifully made with quality craftsmanship and detail. The hat measures 22 inches inside crown circumference, with a 4 inch wide brim. It is in excellent condition. This is truly an amazing opulent ladies Victorian era inspired reproduction hat!
