Victorian era brown Betty pottery teapot unusual shape hand enameled ivy flowers
Sweet Victorian era brown Betty style teapot in an unusual eight sided shape. It is unmarked but I feel fairly confident that it is of British origin. Has a very heavy brown glaze and nicely painted flowers with ivy sprigs. Overall condition is great with no hips or cracks to make note of (excluding a little nibble to the piece that hold the lid on (should be visible in the pictures....Very minor but I prefer to mention). As you see there is some wear to the raised areas of the decoration, looks like it's mainly to the leaves on the front/back panels. A bit of wear to the gold as is expected but no other issues to make note of. The pot measures 7 1/2" from the top of the lid to the base rim. A good usable antique piece.
