Bell Box

This wonderful bell box is in good "as found" condition and has not been repaired or restored by us.

There are no cracks or chips to the glass. This bell box, a little more unusual than most, has a separate blue painted metal sheet behind the glass with the room names painted on, there are some patches of paint loss to the sheet and the usual minor blemishes that you would expect from the years of use. The black lettering and detailing is still clear and legible. It also has a name and address "W.J. Powell, Ashton Keynes, Swindon"

The flags have a lovely faded appearance, unfortunately, one of the arms and the flag is missing from one window; could be replaced with craft papers. The jointed wooden case is solid with no signs of woodworm and has gained a lovely patina and depth of colour over the years.

It has four windows, they are;

• Dining Rm
  

It comes in all its' lived in glory,andis adelightfulpiece of social history that would look great on the wall inyourhallway or any other room for that matter.

It measures 39.5 cm (15 1/2 inches) long and is 21 cm (8 1/4 inches) wide. It is 8 cm (3 1/4 inches) deep.
