Beautiful iridescent quality to this opal! (Opal and setting w/ open back weigh 23cts.)

***This may be a more rare\"honey\" Andamooka opal, I have seen images of those and this opal looks very similar, but I can\'t be certain.***

The 3rd from last pic was taken in minimal natural lighting on a cloudy day to show the quality of this opal. It doesn\'t need direct light to be colorful, only movement. Sunlight does bring out all its fire!

Andamooka opal is also known as \"The Queen\'s Opal\".

Andamooka opal is only found in Southern (Andamooka) Australia. It is a town where most of the streets don\'t have names and the roads aren\'t paved. I would love to go there! This is just a gorgeous opal!

The setting is guaranteed 14k yellow gold, not plated, weight of pendant is 4.6g. The bezel set opal is approx. 32x18mm and reasonably thick as can be seen in the pictures, the setting is approx. 1 5/8\" x 3/4\". (Since this item is vintage, the bail is not large, but it accommodated all my gold chains nicely, it will not work with an omega. The opening is approx. 2.5 x 3mm.)

The colors in this opal are purple, green and this beautiful sunset orange/pink/red (the main colors inmost Andamooka opal). The oranges, yellows, and reds/pinks make this a very good quality Andamooka opal since those are the more rare colors in this stone.
