Vintage 16\" Sasha Brunette Unmarked Doll (late 1960s ?):
$256.00

This sale is for a vintage 16\" Sasha Brunette Doll. She is made of hard vinyl, has brown rooted hair, is unmarked, and her age is unknown as she was purchased at a tag sale in the 1970s. Research, however, indicates the unmarked Sasha dolls were made in England, and the specific attributes of this particular doll seem to date her as a late 1960s doll (perhaps 1969), but you will have to be the final judge on that since I am not a doll expert. Here are some details that may help you to date her. She has a \"hook and bar\" assembly for her neck; a factory-made side part in her hair; her head has a philtrum (groove between her nose and upper lip); and she has a bikini mold line. Her legs are strung with white elastic cording, striped with purple, and her arms are strung with white elastic cording striped with purple and green, but she will have to be restrung as her head, arms, and legs are very loose and she cannot hold a pose. The doll\'s head, brown eyes, and facial features have no visible marks, stains, scratches, or cracks. Her long dark brunette hair is full and shiny, with thick bangs that lay on her forehead. While her lip color is very faint and may have faded some, I cannot know for sure if her facial features are lighter than usual since she is the only Sasha I have. There are, however, two areas of concern: her right shoulder has an area (about the size of an 1/8\" circle) where the finish is worn away; and her left leg has a pink line (about an 1/8\" wide) that extends for about 2\" up the back of her leg (possibly from a marker), as well as a faint pinkish smudge on the side of that same leg and near the heel.

This doll is wearing a two-piece brown corduroy outfit, which appears to have been a Sasha outfit, but I do not know if these are the clothes she came in. The brown dress, with a white collar and long brown sleeves that have Velcro closures at the wrist, has faded a little and one back closure snap has pulled off the dress. The elastic in the waist and legs of the matching corduroy panties has stretched out, the white, ribbed knit undershirt has also discolored a bit, and she only has one brown shoe (which may not be a Sasha accessory). This doll comes from a smoke-free home, was displayed in a case for many years, and then packed away in a closet, and she is now looking for a new home. I have tried to describe her as accurately as possible, but please look closely at the photos before offerding, and thank you for looking.
