Vintage 1870s MILTON BRADLEY Primer Language & Drawing FLASH CARDS set 20; MINT
This is a vintage set of 20 early flash cards for the Primary grades, set #2, and as it says on the envelope, "Incomparable for Supplementary Reading and Busy Work". In 1869, Milton Bradley started a line of "Kindergarden Education Toys" and I believe this is one of the first of these items that they made. They were sent to local schools in Springfield, Mass. and it looks like these cards were sent to a Miss May Anderson in their envelope that is included. What a great find to see an early Milton Bradley stamped envelope that has the date 1860 printed as the establishment date.It is in excellent condition, no rips, tears, no tape and no writinginside or outside the card and interior envelope. The mailing envelope, although complete has a normal tears and bending for 150 years of handling.
