Vintage 1890's Figural Palmer Cox Brownie Chinaman German Porcelain Stamp Lick For Sale
Now up for offers...
This oddity comes from a small collection of Brownie memorabilia
In case you have been out of touch for the last century and a quarter, you undoubtedly know that The Brownies were the latest thing in the 1890's or so. Their author, Palmer Cox was a Canadian who gave birth to the modern age of product promotion in advertising. He was infamous for his mischevious band of do-gooding creatures known as The Brownies. Certainly most people reading these words are familiar with the Brownie Camera. That is the top example of one of the products that Cox's Brownies promoted about 5-quarter-centuries ago.
Wow, direct from the age which preceded political correctness is this outstanding Chinaman Brownie Stamp Lick. Excellent condition. He measures about 4-1/2 inches tall and 3 inches wide. No damage noted, but the sponge is very old and dry & crumbling apart.
