Vintage 1909 Baseball Scorer Wheel - Johnstown Pa - Pennsylvania Railroad Depot For Sale
This paper litho print baseball scoring wheel advertisement was given to guests and customers of The Queen City Hotel in 1909, by proprietor Jack Hines. The attached photo of Johnstown, PA city directory from 1909 shows Jack Hines as proprietor, however he doesn't show up as proprietor in the years following. He may be the same Jack Hines that shows up in a 1921 Philadelphia Inquirer sports column as manager of Jack Hines Oldtimers baseball team. Metal rivets holding the two paper pieces are intact, and the operation for the scorer runs smoothly. Prior to 1916, the Pennsylvania Rail Road depot was located at Iron Streeet and Station Street. Unknown where the Ball Grounds listed on this item were located in 1909, but probably were near the site where the present Point Stadium is located, since the item mentions that the Queen City Hotel is two minutes from the Ball Grounds.
