This sale is for a Nifty Vintage 1920’s Topkis Athletic Union Suit Men\'s Cotton “Short John\'s” Underwear / Sleepwear, sold at Marshall Field & Co “The Store for Men”.
This is a cool summer batiste cotton one-piece with open seat in back, other design features are the flexible soft knit panel in back, an 8 button closure in front and a 1 1/8” waist band also in front.
I could find no size label but to me it appears to be for a more portly stout man, so please pay attention to the measurements laying flat which are :
15” across the shoulders – 27” across just under the arms – 30” across the waist (relaxed) 32” (stretched) – 30” across the hip - and it\'s about 30” long down the side seam.
It\'s in very good freshly laundered but un-ironed condition and the only things I can find wrong is a few tiny stains on the back by the neck (two of these tiny little stains have created pinhead size holes see picture #5 ), then there\'s two super faint pinhead size stains on the front (neck area) and there\'s a pea size rusty like stain near one side seam (by the waist band).
Would make a great funky Steampunk getup.
