Vintage 1920s Noritake Porcelain Compote Art Deco Maidens Fruit Bowl Decoration w Gold Trim

Description: This is a vintage Noritake porcelain compote without handles featuring three figural maidens around the pedestal of the piece. The bowl of the compote is decorated with hand painted fruit on a lustre glazed background. The rim and exterior are glazed in orange lustre with a gold painted top edge. The maidens are rendered in an art deco style with black and peach lustre glazed detailing and generously accented in gold paint. The pedestal is in a blue lustre glaze and the base is finished with a band of gold paint. A similar example is pictured in the David Spain book “Noritake Collectibles A to Z” on page 111, however, this example appears to be more highly decorated with gold paint, perhaps a higher quality piece. The underside is marked with the “M in wreath” backstamp with “Handpainted” and “Made in Japan” appearing underneath. This mark is red is dated to 1925, however, I believe, that this mark is more magenta/maroon than red - magenta was used on pieces that were more highly decorated with gold. The piece measures 6 15/16” in height with a bowl diameter of 6 7/8”. It weighs 570 grams (1 lb and 4 oz). It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or wear - a very nice example. Beautiful addition to a Noritake collection...overseas buyers, please note that this piece will only be mailed by Canada Post with tracking, so please e-mail for a shipping quote prior to offerding.....

I am now shipping to my US clients through USPS services. I am located in Canada but I now have a carrier service to bring my parcels directly across the border on Wednesdays to be shipped out of the USPS postal outlet in Champlain, N.Y. In addition to the actual shipping cost, I do charge a $4.00 handling fee to help offset the cost of this special US service and new packaging for this piece. Please note that even with the handling fee that it is less expensive and is a quicker service than using Canada Post.

Because is now requiring TRS sellers to process within 24 hours, I would require your Paypal payment by Monday at 5:00 p.m., Eastern Standard Time.

To my Canadian clients, I use Canada Post for shipping, as I am based in Canada - legally, I am not permitted to ship to you through the US, so do not rely on the US shipping calculator for costs.

To my International clients I can ship by either Canada Post or by USPS (in order to use USPS for intl. clients - the items must sell for under $200.00).

Please feel free to write with any inquiries in regards to cost of shipping to you.

I would request any client to get in touch with me upon winning an item, who is NOT able to pay by Monday at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, so I can get an idea of when to expect your payment.
